During their visit to France a unidentified photographer took long range photos of the Duchess of Cambridge while sunbathing nude. These photos were then published in a French gossip magazine named Closer. The royal couple is now trying to press charges.
They have opened up a civil suit to ban the republication or resale of the photos, and have also begun to push for criminal charges against the photographer. They believe the photographer has committed a criminal act under French law and want the French authorities to pursue a criminal investigation.
The lawyer representing the couple has said this seems to be “open and shut case”. The royal couple is currently on a tour of the Solomon Islands, but is said to be keeping up with the progress of the case.
