Love Olatunjiojo is suing the NYPD for what he is calling a civil rights violation. Olatunijojo apparently was walking back from just purchasing some candy with his friends when the NYPD stopped and searched them.
According to the NYPD officer that arrested them the candy, which were still in their wrappers tested positive for Methamphetamine. Olatunijojo was then arrested along with his friend who was apparently interfering with police by telling them “It’s CANDY!”.
Olatunijojo was released after lab results found no methamphetamine in the jolly rancher candy. At the end of the day it looks like Olatunijojo spent 24 hours in police custody for candy.
Olatunijojo is now seeking unspecified damages in connection with the ordeal.
